Health Care Management Master Program

School of Public Health of National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy (SPH NaUKMA) has been established in 2001. Since 2004 the key educational product of School of Public Health has been its Master programme “Health Ñare Management”; which was developed with a support of Open Society Institute and Maastricht University (the Netherlands). Subsequently, NaUKMA has become a member of Association of Schools of Public Health in the European Region (ASPHER). The Vision of the programme is to provide high quality education and training for the health sector professionals, to provide research and consultancy to meet the need for improving the health of the population and to advance transformation of the health care system. At the moment, there are about 200 graduated students of SPH NaUKMA. The curriculum of the program was developed in 2002-2004 and since that time it is constantly revised with regard to new challenges of global health as well as to Ukrainian changing context. Most of SPH teaching staff got their internship and professional support at Maastricht University and other leading universities around the world as well as they are constantly involved in other educational and research activities in Ukraine and worldwide.

Apart from traditional format of classes (lectures and seminars), master program participants have a chance to meet well-known experts and practitioners of health care sector within guest lectures and guest-speaker workshops.

Since 2004 the SPH is delivering the only full scope two year Master’s program in Health Care Management (for undergraduates) in the country. Environment of the master program is rather intersectional since we enroll graduates of bachelor programs of different fields, e.g. economics, humanity, social and political sciences, medicine and others. We believe that SPH tradition to have student group with a mixture of previous backgrounds is an important feature in quality of educational process.

Being created as an institution to foster health reform in Ukraine, the SPH aimed at creating a set of educational products for health care managers, those could adhere to international standards and recognized in the EU.

The curriculum of the program has the following format:
