British Chevening Scholarships for Ukraine 2005/2006

Deadline: December 10, 2004

The Chevening Scholarship scheme is a worldwide programme funded by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office and administered by the British Council. It provides opportunities for candidates to undertake a postgraduate study or research in the UK and obtain a degree.

Most scholarships are for postgraduate Masters degrees courses (MSc, MA, LLM) lasting for up to 12 months, but the option of undertaking a shorter period of study or research (minimum 3 months) is also available.

The priority subject areas for academic year 2005/06 are:
Economic Policy & Reform
Environment & Sustainable Development
Human Rights
International Relations and International Law
Media Studies
Public Policy & Public Administration
Public Health

Eligibility criteria:
be under 35 years of age
be citizens of and Ukraine and be resident in Ukraine at the time of application
have a first degree (Diploma).
have a track record of excellence & achievement
have good written and spoken English. Most UK Universities require a minimum IELTS of 6.5 for academic postgraduate courses

FINANCIAL TERMS
Chevening scholarship covers academic fees, visas, flights and a monthly allowance to cover living expenses for 3-12 month study period.

Note! Other supporting documents (copies of diploma, references, transcripts) should not be attached to the application form. Candidates may be required to submit them at a later date.

Short-listed candidates will be invited for an interview conducted in English, in Kyiv, in January 2005. Those not selected for interview will be informed in writing by 20th March, 2005. Successful candidates will be required to take an English exam (IELTS), and will be informed of the final results by 31 March 2005.

About NaUKMA
