Запрошуємо на дискусію: How do universities contribute to the socio-economic development of our regions?, середа, 23 квітня, 16:30
We invite you to a short journey into the fascinating “world of universities” to better understand how these higher education institution have contributed to the development of their surrounding environment for the past 900 years. Have you ever thought what is the impact of the education and research activities performed daily by universities on the regional economies? What about the expenses made by the universities and their associated agents (students, visitors etc.)? Do they generate any effects on the regional economic circuit? We will discuss on how the mechanisms that universities develop at regional level and how it contributes to the process of socio-economic development.
Speaker: The presentation will be delivered by Alexandru Fotea, currently associated to the Educational Marketing, Events and Academic Image at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi, the oldest and one of the most prestigious universities in Romania. Alexandru Fotea has a PhD in Economics and, for the past years, has attended various conferences, workshops and research stages related to this topic in countries like Romania, Spain, Lithuania, Turkey and Ukraine.
