Academy is proclaiming the end of the political strike!
President Bryukhovetsky is announcing the end of the NaUKMA political strike on the main "orange" stage at Maidan - the same place where he was proclaiming the beginning of the NaUKMA political strike.

The column of the Mohyla students and faculty members are going to Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, where the questions, extremely important for Ukraine, are being discussed. It is symbolic that exactly 13 years ago, on December 1, 1991 the All-Ukrainian Referendum on Independent Status of Ukraine demonstrated the nation's will to live in an independent and free country. This date of the year 2004 will also be remembered - at 12:30 p.m. Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared its distrust for the acting Government headed by the Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovich.

The goal of the Mohyla WE ARE GOING movement is the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. The NaUKMA is willing to support those Ministry officers who are declaring their support to the civic movement for freedoms and rights. The Academy community is also addressing the Ukrainian diplomats all over the globe with the open letter urging them to prevent interferences into the internal affairs of Ukraine, as they could lead to the existing political situation escalation.

12:00 - Mohyla students are picketing the Embassy of Russian Federation in Ukraine. They submit the letter to the President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with the urge not to recognize the "total fraud of Ukrainian nation".

Another letter is being forwarded to the Rector of National University of "Ostroh Academy" (former NaUKMA branch) Ihor Pasichnyk where the NaUKMA community expresses its huge dissatisfaction on Professor Pasichnyk active role in the Viktor Yanukovich's election campaign.

10 a.m.-3 p.m. - WE ARE GOING - and a column of a thousand of NaUKMA students, faculty and staff is leaving Kontraktova ploscha for Maidan Nezalezhnosti. Then we are marching through Sophiivsky maidan to Ploscha Peremohy, where Ministry of Educational and Science of Ukraine is located.
3 p.m. - Academic Council of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" is voting for Leonid Kravchuk, first President of Ukraine deprivation of the Degree of the Honorary Doctor of NaUKMA for discredit of the degree (Protocol #40 on November 25, 2004).
The NaUKMA community writes an open letter to Prime-Minister Yanukovich. The letter is being submitted during the first meeting of Kyiv Student Strike Committee. Representatives of other Kyiv universities and leaders of strike committees joined the appeal.

A tent of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" has joint hundreds of others making the Khreschatyk tent city. By then 14 NaUKMA students have set up their private tents on the protesting central street of the Ukrainian capital.
The NaUKMA community is preparing a letter to Vasyl Kremin, Minister of Education and Science of Ukraine, where it is blaming him for his passive position during the election campaign period, when the school teachers, university lectures and other employees of the educational sphere were forced to become marionettes in the illegal power actions.
Another letter is being addressed to Leonid Kravchuk, NaUKMA Honorary Doctor and the First president of Ukraine. We are writing about our hopes that "in such a critical situation Mr. Kravchuk would choose the side of law and political position adequate to his role of the first President of Ukraine and NaUKMA Honorary Doctor".
An open letter signed by the Rectors of several Ukrainian universities is being sent to Jacques Chirac, President of the French Republic.

The students, faculty and staff members of the National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" are declaring a political strike. The students and teachers are coming to agreement to schedule classes missed during the strike for the student's holidays.
1 p.m. - Vyacheslav Bryukhovetsky, NaUKMA President, is having a press conference at the UNIAN information agency.
4 p.m. - Vyacheslav Bryukhovetsky, NaUKMA President, is answering the journalists' questions during the press conference at the Victor Yuschenko's Central Headquarters Press Center (located at the NaUKMA Arts Center).

National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" initiative group in defense of the civil rights and freedoms is addressing the Mohyla community with the appeal to joint forces in struggle for the voter's Constitutional rights and for the dignity of the Ukrainian citizens.
The NaUKMA column is going for Maidan Nezalezhnosti, where President Bryukhovetsky is declaring the NaUKMA decision to go on political strike.

Provocation against NaUKMA!
On Sunday, November 17, at 9 a.m. militia representatives are approaching the NaUKMA administration with the demands to let them conduct an inspection of the University buildings. They are being accompanied with a cameraman.
The NaUKMA administration doubts the legal basis for an inspection as there is no official decree for such a procedure. Therefore the NaUKMA is taking this visit as a provocation and an attempt to discredit the University.
